Hephzibah is Oak Park’s oldest social service agency. Founded as an orphanage in 1897. Their mission is to help children thrive and families flourish through innovative, community-based programs.
Hephzibah, Oak Park’s oldest social service agency, supports children and families through innovative, community-based programs. They were looking to create a video that would better capture the warmth and story of their work. After collaborating with the client, we aligned on a hand-drawn visual style using their brand colors to convey a more human, approachable tone.
I developed the storyboards and created the final visual assets, which were then handed off to an animator to produce the finished video.

After exploring several art styles, we landed on a youthful, hand-drawn approach that is energetic yet soft and rounded. The brand palette was expanded to include playful gradients and a broader range of secondary colors.

After testing multiple animation styles, we chose a slower frame rate to create a more nostalgic feel and gently soften the tone for such serious subject matter.
